Small Business Development Center @ FGCU
In January they had put together a very well organized Entrepreneurs Law School, from which I took a lot of excellent suggestions, insights and tips home with me, and I am still not done with me follow up from my todo-List that I compiled during the day I spent at this event.
Today I received the newsletter of the Small Business Administration: In their seminar schedule I was again looking for the free seminar on Women Owned Business Certification, which will be held on April 17th, 2008. This time I will be able to attend. A lot of government contracts or semi-government contracts favor Minority/Woman Owned businesses, but in order to qualify your company needs to be certified. This two hour FREE seminar will teach us how to get certified.
The second thing that peacked my interest is the First Entrepreneur's World Expo on April 22, 2008. One could argue that 3KP is little generous with the definition 'World', doesn't have to the whole world, can just our own little world on Southwest Florida. But maybe I am reading it wrong and it's the Entrepreneur's World the will be exhibited... Be that as it may "On of Oprahs most favorite Entrepreneurs" will be the keynot speaker", Dr. Michele Hoskins, of Michele Foods, which in itself is worth going. So sign-up at 3 Kings Promotion web site. The registration is free for Entrepreneurs.
And the third link I followed was to the "Small Business Resource Network" web site, which states, "The SBRN helps businesses succeed by connecting them with interested, experienced service providers and government agencies." It is sponsored byt the SBDC at Universities in Florida. The businesses and professionals in this network have been selected specifically because the want to work with small businesses and have been done so since minimum of three years. All applications are reviewed byt the SBRN Advisory Committee. On the site you'll find the Network Directory, and Information Library and last but not least you find great information on Business Continuity/ Risk Management.
